The James Stewart Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, held its first organizational meeting on September 9, 2000 in Heard County, Georgia. On October 7, 2000, the chapter received its official notification of its name and number and the state organizing secretary installed the officers and members. The James Stewart Chapter NSDAR is a member of the Northwest District of the Georgia State Society.
