by Hollis Crockett

In October, I traveled to Germantown, Maryland to visit my grandchildren Jason and Lisa Crockett Richmond and my great-grandson Ambrose,  who celebrated his second birthday while I was there.   While I was visiting, Lisa and I went into Washington D.C. sight-seeing and visited the DAR headquarters.  We are both charter members of the James Stewart Chapter.  The building is very impressive.  We took the tour and saw most of the rooms from each state, including the Georgia Room.

While there, we donated The Awbrey Book written by Jon Anthony Awbrey to the DAR Library.  The Awbrey Book traces the genealogy of our paternal ancestry.

The picture to the left shows Hollis holding the book at the DAR  Headquarters.  The picture to the right shows Hollis in front of the building.  Note the scaffolding in the background where the building  restoration is taking place.
